crush crush crush

Before you read this, you need to know that this is probably the silliest post I have ever posted. And has absolutely no real substantial NEED or PURPOSE. But I couldn't help it... so without further ramblings... I LOVE TAYLOR SWIFT. And she released her new album on Monday morning. Her third. I couldn't be more in love with it.

I know this sounds silly, but Taylor's music means so much to me. I can relate each song to a moment in my life that I've matched in my head and in my heart. I know them all. Every single word. I can be found drunk in the bar singing Taylor karaoke if my friends leave me alone for too long. And yes, there are videos. LOL. But honestly. her music has gotten me through everything. And I have seen her live as much as possible. The best thing about Taylor is her love for the fans. It shines through in her smile.

Last year I invited Liz over to watch the CMA awards. When Taylor won entertainer of the year, I popped the champagne and got misty eyed like a silly little school girl. The song White Horse changed my life. I would seriously listen to it over and over and over until I couldn't cry any longer. I know this sounds sad, but it wasn't. It was me dealing with something. Growing up. And realizing that life isn't a fairytale, and that I am not a princess. Things don't have to be perfect ALL the time. It's okay to be sad, and it's okay to wonder if it's all ever going to work out. It's natural. Everyone hurts. Every one is dealing with something. But if you just have hope. God will take care of the rest.

In the summer I traveled to Nashville and had my dream come true moment... I ran into Taylor Swift while boutique shopping. We met and she was SO nice! I couldn't breathe. It was so silly. Her mom was so adorable and we snapped photos and chatted for a little while. AND THEN it got better... a personal invite from Taylor to a beautiful personal top secret concert.

Magic.

Taylor was so amazing at the concert. She played "Mine" for us. For the very first time. Way before the single even came out. We had to sign top secret disclosure forms and meet on the top of a building beforehand to be shuttled to the location. It was so stinking awesome, and they filmed it for a CMT special. Taylor was so amazingly sweet to everyone.  You can watch the performance HERE <3

Okay, I am done gushing. Happy Wednesday.

LOVE LOVE LOVE,
Shawni Marie

..my best friend would be way jealous of you.

i went to her concert once and was lucky enough for her to change where she was singing and she was literally three feet away and she touched our hands. my friend and i were two twenty-somethings amongst a sea of pre-teens pretty darn excited about taylor being so close to us.
    hahaha.

  13. That's a pretty awesome story. It makes perfect sense to me that some artists can touch you in ways others can't. I reckon that's the point of music, after all. So amazing you got to meet her, though. Like I said, AWESOME.
