My closet has been killing me. I shop. WAY too much. but it makes me happy, so don't judge me. lol. I ran out of room in my closet about two weeks ago. This didn't stop me from shopping. So last week, I pulled out a bunch and set them aside for donation. There still wasn't any room for new clothes. So three shopping bags sat in the corner, full of new items.
Today I picked up a copy of Lauren Conrad's new book. I read through it and she gives some pretty great advice. Basically, if you haven't worn it in a year, you NEED to toss it.
So I set out to work.
I removed some items to make some extra room...
Then I weeded out A TON of items and organized everything by color...
THEN....
I went to dinner with Liz. Tres Hermas is our favorite.
XOXO,
Shawni Marie
p.s. A little sneak peek at my outfit post
Doesn't it feel great to sort out your closet and get rid of things? I need to do that really badly - I definitely have things I haven't worn in the last year, and I could really benefit from doing "out with the old, in the with new." I really want that new Lauren Conrad book, too - I love her style (would LOVE to raid her closet!). :)
ReplyDeleteI need to go through my clothes too!!!
ReplyDelete{Thank you for the reminder!} :)
I am so glad that you had an amazing day yesterday and that now you get Saturdays off! Yay!!!
P.S. I LOVE your outfit! That dress is SO darling!! I adore the pattern!!! You have the CUTEST clothes!!! :)
Have a beautiful day! Don't work too hard!!
xo
I am SO proud of you for this you know<3
ReplyDeleteAlso, I want to get the LC book too I have been hearing so many good things. Meow.
ps; I want the picture of me from Tres Hermanas! lol
When I ran out of room in my closet, I bought a free standing clothing rack, put it in my entry way, and put all of our coats on it. They are huge and we have about 15 between the two of us, so I have a lot more space! Now I just have to figure out what to do when summer comes back and I don't want them out... Oh well. Problem for another day :)
ReplyDeletePS: You should save some of those clothes for the stitch and swap! I can't wait for the next one.
hello :) i do this at least once a week! do you guys have a buffalo exchange near you? that's where all my old clothes go. i also use some metal hangers with velvet on them because they take up less space :) you should try them!

i recently just went through my closet because we moved. it feels wonderful to get rid of things. it's weird how attached we get to clothes though.
ReplyDeletei like that "if you haven't worn it in a year, lose it"... i will keep that in mind.
i'm glad you had time to do the things you wanted to do. [:

good for you to going through that task! never fun but sometimes necessary. i do think the fun part is finding clothes that you forgot about - esp the ones that come back to style!

I'm out of room in our teeny lil closet too!
ReplyDeleteI want a HUGE WALKIN ONE.. but until then I guess I can fold all my tshirts. sighhh.

um...AMAZING dress!
ReplyDeleteHooray for shopping! I clean out my closet every six months or so because I love the feeling of tossing the things I no longer wear and making room for pretty new items. And thanks for the heads-up on Lauren Conrad's new book -- I might be picking that up later this week! :)
ReplyDeleteFun! I've had a lovehate relationship with LC for years, but I'm finally permanently on the love side, I think. She's managed to stay pretty classy through it all, I'd say.

You are so cute! I'm so happy that you have Saturdays off now! Now you have a day to just relax and craft and do whatever you want, awesome. :) Ah, I really need to go through my closet and organize it too. I ran out of room probably a year ago, ha! And it doesn't help that my boyfriend keeps a lot of his clothes in it too! It's overflowing.
ReplyDeleteSuper cute dress!
