love affair

I broke down and bought myself a Canon Rebel last week. I have been wanting one SO badly. I still have to learn how to use it the proper way and what not but for now, I am just playing. Here are the first photos I snapped... nothing special. But I was stoked...

I really really need tips and tricks. I would love some comments back. Meow.

XOXO,
Shawni Marie

  6. I love my Rebel! my favorite thing to do is to play with my camera! I've recently started shooting on manual, and it's so awesome having control of the camera instead of letting the AUTO settings take over.

  7. by playing with your camera and the settings is def the right direction head! just play, play, play! it also gets some getting used to the setting and what not, unlike a point and shoot - but as you already know, the pics already show that its so worth it!!!

    have fun, shawni!

  8. I'm in a digital photo class right now and I've been using my university's cameras which are all Rebels. They're so great and fun to use! When/If I ever get the money, I'll definitely be picking one up for myself! If you have any questions about the camera I'd be glad to help out!

  10. Woohoooo! Super exciting. I just bought my first fancy camera too! Try photojojo.com for tips and tricks. I also love The Pioneer Woman's photography section (which Liz blogged about earlier) and I've been told Aperture is a good editing software for macs.

Good luck, I'm learning right alongside you!

  11. I'm sooooooooooo happy you bought this!! You're going to have such a blast playing around with it. I bought mine a few years ago and I couldn't set it down!! I need to start playing around with it more, it's been too long. :( I think I might get Keith to buy me a wide angle lens for my birthday.... hmmmmm. hehe.
