almost everything

i had a rough weekend. i won't bother you with all of the details, but things were a little more up and down than i would have liked. i guess that's the problem with expectations. you spoil yourself on good/happy times, and crash when things aren't 100 percent rosy.

i believe most of this can be controlled by a positive attitude and disposition. but i can't always force myself to see the brighter side. even worse, you can't force others around you to see the brighter side either.

i guess it's true...

it feels bad now, but it's gonna get better. someday.

how do you deal with your bad days? when it feels like nothing is going to change? and there's no way you could feel better. any time soon.

XOXO,
Shawni Marie

  1. Sorry to hear that you had a tough weekend.

Spend time with your family and real friends 'cause they're always there to support you no matter how tough the situation gets. And keep doing things that you love, like crafting - or set up a craft meetup so you can get your mind off problems, focus on positive things, and enjoy the company of like-minded people!

    Hope this helps.

  4. Just work through it and keep your chin up! Not every day is going to be happy or perfect or even just ok. There's nothing wrong with letting yourself be upset, because then when something happy comes along you'll be that much more excited for it!
    Love you sweety!!

  6. I had a bad week all week last week, and it was just getting worse and worse, until I went to see my best friend, and then stayed with my brother and his wife for a couple of nights. I think it's important, when you're down and things are bad, to surround yourself with people you love and who love you. I hope you're okay xx

  8. last week was that way for me and the thanksgiving weekend too. I'm so sorry. You are definitely not alone.
I really try to sit down and write about the good things that are going on in my life, or treat myself to coffee and a good book. Time with friends is the best way to go!
Hope your week this week gets much better!

  9. I deal with bad days by reminding myself that there's always someone who has it worse than myself.

  11. Aw, I'm sorry! When I have bad days, I'll write in my journal some place quiet. Or I'll make myself some hot tea and read a nice book. But sometimes it is still hard to focus. Just try to stay positive & we are all here for you! I hope you week gets better.

    xoxo, sarah

  12. I like to make a list, usually mentally but can by physically, of everything that I am grateful for in my life. Once you start, it's hard to stop, and even though things suck, you remember how much life is good. Hope this works for you!

  13. when i'm in a down mood, i think of all the reasons i shouldn't be down.
    how great i have it.
how i'm not starving or homeless or stripped of my rights.

then whatever i'm dealing with seems like non-sense.

    if that doesn't work, fattening foods help. [;

  14. i can usually cure a bad day with shopping, good food, a cocktail and cake for lunch.

you can also try calling your friend who will come over and bake for you...over cocktails :)

  15. I'm so sorry to hear you had an icky weekend.

My remedies depend on the type of sadness... Cures for the ickies usually include a long chat with the bff, a hard workout at the gym, some crafting while watching Sex & The City episodes to get my mind off things, a little cry in the shower and then regroup with a warm up of tea (or wine, or mojitos, or burritos...), etc.

My grandma always used to say "This too shall pass," so I like to remind myself that every once in a while.

  18. sometimes venting to a positive girlfriend can really help. they can give you a different perspective on things, and you know they are always rooting for you.

always be hopeful, no matter the situation.
