Over the years, I have developed QUITE the collection of necklaces, rings, and earrings. It's so easy to lose track of them, or have them become a tangled mess. So I took two really "everyday" items, and transformed them into something that works for me...

First, I took a tie rack, and taped the pegs off to paint the rest of the wood. I used lavender, to add a nice feminim touch. Then I just hung my necklaces up on each of the pegs.

& THEN, I took a canvas, and some extra fabric that I had laying around...I covered the canvas and hung my earrings up in the fabric. Now I know exactly what I have, and where to find it.
Silly, but this made me feel a ton better.

What are some fun little, DIY's you do around YOUR home?!

  1. ooooh!!! I love love love that fabric you used for the earring holder!! That is such a brilliant idea!!! I have a jewelry amour type thing and I never seem to *really* go through it to find jewelry! I always go for the same pieces *all* the time!!! I made a three tier jewelry holder last week and I love the fact that now I can really see some more pieces from my extensive collection!! :)
But I love the tie rack idea!!! i will have to remember this!!!
PS You have such beautiful jewelry!!!! You have excellent taste!!!

  4. Why do I feel like I never see you wear dangly earrings? I think this means i should just inherit your entire collection ;)

Cute cute cute bby. So smart of you to do that with the tie rack. I have that empty frame I want do hang up my jewelry in but I need a staple gun first.

Such a great idea w/ the fabric. I did that was cardboard, but a canvas probably works soo much better hehe ♥

  7. I love what you did to your necklaces! I sketch a lot so when my sketch book is done, I take the cardboard piece that is behind the sketch book and tear it off. I take a favorite set of push pins and line them across the top for necklaces and then I took another back piece of another sketch book and made four rows of push pins to hang my earrings on. :)

  11. I love the tie rack idea. I hang my necklaces on a Key holder thing I got at Walmart. It only has 3 hooks though, so they still all get tangled.
