tuli bistro: snail award winner

I am super proud of my restaurant right now. Monday night we won a Snail Award. The Snail Award goes hand in hand with the Slow Foods Movement.

Slow Food, founded in Italy 1986, is an international organization whose aim is to protect the pleasures of the table from the homogenization of modern fast food and life. Through a variety of initiatives, it promotes gastronomic culture, develops taste education, conserves agricultural biodiversity and protects traditional foods at risk of extinction.

The movement now has over 80,000 members in over 100 countries.

It was my chance to dress UP for a change and mingle with some very inspiring chefs in Sacramento.

I didn't take many photos, I was too busy licking my plate... but here's a little peek.

XOXO,
SHAWNI MARIE

P.S. My boo brought me back a West Texas wildflower...
COTTON!!

  4. That is super exciting! I learned a lot about slow food in a class I took last year. There is a restaurant in town here that is all about slow food called the Tempest. I want to join the slow food group here on campus soon!
